There's truth to the old adage, "never judge a book by it's cover." But it's also true that people always have - and always will. As an author, you need to learn how to present your book in a way that will capture the attention of your target audience.

This Thursday, we will be holding our next Writer's Salon: "Synopses, Titles, Covers, and Blurbs." Our editor will share tips for how to craft these aspects of your book. Come to participate in our discussion - or just to listen in!

In our meetings with authors, we often stress the importance of tropes as a tool to connect directly with what audiences want. But we also know that a story with no spark of a unique idea, that feels wholly composed of tired old tropes, will fail to capture the imaginations and hearts of readers. So how do you balance that, as a writer? How do you harness the power of tropes while imbuing them with your own voice and creativity?

The salon is free to attend, and you do not need to prepare anything in advance. Just bring yourself and your creativity, and get excited to hear about other writers' experiences - and share your own!
